Gatka - the Sikh martial art. It originated the later part of 19th century and is divided into two categories:

- rasmi (ritualistic)

- khel (sport)

The word has evolved from the Sanskrit word Gada (meaning Mace) and refers to the wooden stick which is an integral part of this. It is also supposed to be a reconstruction, in many ways, of the fighting styles/techniques resorted to by the Sikhs during the 16th-18th centuries.

It’s a combination of grace, stealth, focus and being quick on feet. An absolute joy to watch!

Taken at Punjab Kala Bhawan, Chandigarh, India.

Old, abandoned houses always intrigue me. Especially if their gate is rusted and locked with a rusted lock. I look at the house and it feel as if its looking back at me saying, “I hold so much within me. I’ve captured snippets of time with me. Do you wanna know?” Spooky, i know. But my fascination doesn’t die.

Taken from atop the abandoned and now reopened roof top cafe in a corner of the sprawling premise of the Art Gallery in Chandigarh. For some really, really weird reason, this image reminds me of my Mom and Dad.

Avatar Sip the warmth from your mug, grab a cushion, and turn down the music - there is much to be said.
